Die Vrystaatse streek van die SANParke Ereveldwagters (SANParks Honorary Rangers) het op hierdie stadium 33 lede en 2 applikante. Die streek is veral betrokke by Golden Gate Hoogland Nasionale Park in die ooste van die Vrystaat en ook Mokala Nasionale Park in die Noord Kaap. Lede van die streek doen ook van tyd tot tyd diens in van die ander Nasionale Parke van SANParke. Deel van die betrokkendheid by die Nasionale Parke is projekte wat deur die lede van die Vrystaatstreek aangebied word. Dit behels onder andere die jaarlikse voëltjienaweek wat in Golden Gate Hoogland Nasionale Park aangebied word en die jaarlikse bekendstellingsnaweek vir toeriste in Mokala Nasionale Park.

Birding weekend / Voëltjienaweek

"Die Vrystaatse Streek van die SANPARKS Honorary Rangers, het vanaf 7 tot 10 Februarie 2013, 'n onvergeetlike Voëlkyknaweek te Golden Gate Hoogland Nasionale Park aangebied. Die geleentheid is in 'n vrolike gees deur 'n rekordgetal van 39 voëlliefhebbers van die Vrystaat, KwaZulu-Natal en Gauteng bygewoon. Die wenners van die dag het meer as 100 geidentifiseer. Die spoggeleentheid is met die ondersteuning van die gebruiklike borgskap deur Sasol aangebied."
"The Free State Region of SANParks Honorary Rangers, with the support and sponsorship of SASOL, presented an unforgettable Birding Weekend on 07 and 10 February 2013 at the Golden Gate Highlands National Park in the Eastern Free State. The weekend was attended bya record number of 39 bird lovers, mainly from the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng. There are 176 species on the park's bird list. Next year's weekend will take place early in February 2014. "

New Vulture Hide / Nuwe Aasvoëlskuling -Golden Gate
Die Vrystaatse en KwaZulu-Natalse streke van die SANParke Ereveldwagters het in samewerking met die bestuur van Golden Gate Hoogland Nasionale Park 'n voëlskuiling in die park gebou. Die projek se voltooiing is ook ondersteun met fondsinsamelings van ander streke van die SANParke Ereveldwagters. Die amptelike opening van die skuiling het plaasgevind op 17 November 2012.
This hide will serve as part of efforts to contribute to the protection and conservation of vultures in the mountain area of the Eastern Free State and mountain region of Lesotho and Golden Gate Highlands National Park. The official opening of the hide took place on 17 November 2012.
