Regional meetings:
Marakele Region alternates the meeting each month between Marakele SANParks boardroom and Warthog Inn boardroom, Brits. This is to allows all members to attend a meeting at least every second month as members are from Bela-Bela, Thabazimbi, Pretoria and Midrand.
Marakele Region
Despite being only a small group of Marakele SANParks Honorary Rangers, we at Marakele had a good year thanks to assistance from all other regions.
Events include:
Birding in Marakele – November
The Marakele Marathon is the regions main annual event and has grown to over 1100 runners in 2025
Marakele Orientation courses increased to 3 per year.
Camp duties Marakele SANParks – all regions
Project Embrace – in collaboration with Marakele
In-park fences (old farm fences) are removed in collaboration with SANParks and other regions.
