The Pretoria Region meets each month through a balanced program of in-person, virtual, and social gatherings, supporting consistent engagement and shared purpose.
Pretoria Region
Training leaders. Inspiring communities. Supporting rangers. Protecting our parks.
Established in 1988, the Pretoria Region is one of the largest and most dynamic regions of the SANParks Honorary Rangers.
Driven by a passionate leadership team and dedicated volunteers, we are recognised as a centre of excellence for training and development. Our experienced trainers equip members from across the country to make a meaningful contribution to our National Parks.
We bring conservation to life through:
- Unique bush experiences in Marakele and Kruger National Park
- Popular events like birding weekends, owl spotting outings, and the Skukuza Golf Day
- Community initiatives such as Kids to Parks (introducing children to nature for the first time), Eco Fit Kids (exposing children to fitness programs in nature)
- Zoo talks and conservation campaigns
The region also contributes nationally through initiatives such as World Ranger Day, Public Education and Awareness Programmes, Junior Honorary Rangers, K9 support, ranger wellness (Embrace).
Passion. Purpose. People. That’s what makes Pretoria Region exceptional.
