The Kruger Trail is a cornerstone fundraising initiative for the Magalies Region and has contributed more than R3 million to conservation in the past three years. It directly supports practical conservation efforts within Kruger National Park, with revenue generated being allocated to critical conservation initiatives. The Magalies Region has donated a total of R1,7 million to SANParks to implement and maintain a license plate recognition camera system at the park’s entry gates. This state-of-the-art system is now fully operational and provides 24/7 monitoring, enhancing park security and conservation efforts. Other donations have included data management devices to assist field rangers with ecological and counter poaching reporting. Ranger wellbeing is also supported through the Embrace National Project. The Kruger Trail (TKT) is an unsupported backpack trail which traverses the length of the Kruger National Park. It is the ultimate wilderness trail! Guests complete two legs per year and complete the 650 km trail in three years. The first leg is sold by auction. Thereafter, there is a set fee for each stage.
