On Malgas, a new room for braai equipment was built, lighting was installed in the research quarters, third bedroom and toilet, notice board were erected and a new storeroom and workshop were constructed. The luggage trolley, walls, windows, the front stoep, kitchen, braai equipment room, lookout and ladder all received a new coat of paint. Participation in the project running over a period of four months included: • 15 SHR regions • Over 100 members • 7 000 hours on the islands • Significant travel time Solid successes like these are only possible when many contribute, and sincere thanks to: • All the regions, members and applicants who gave of their time, effort and support in doing the Pelican Watch. Many brought tools and equipment for maintenance activities. • The Marine Section of the West Coast National Park for their unfailing support throughout the season. • West Coast National Park management and staff for all their support. • Everyone who assisted with the data collection, collation and presentation.
