Members of the Marakele Region host an annual weekend in the Marakele National Park for adults with disabilities. This year’s event was hosted in February 2024 at the Thutong Environmental Education Centre. The guests and their caregivers were treated to a game drive and a stargazing evening, much to their enjoyment and excitement. The hosting team wishes to thank the numerous sponsors who contributed to the success of this event. The Marakele Region raised significant funds from various fundraising activities, such as birding weekends, a first aid course and Morukure Bush Camps. The region donated 40 sleeping bags, three tents and 12 torches to the park’s anti-poaching units.
