Integrated Report 2024

The Klipspringer Challenge The Klipspringer Challenge is an annual two-day trail run through the AFNP. In 2023, it was held in April and had 180 participants. There are two route options to choose from: the Challenge is roughly 65 km long and the ‘Lite’ is roughly 40 km. Day one of the event takes runners through the northern side of the Orange River, an area rarely open to visitors. Day two takes runners through the Central Section of the park along the Klipspringer Hiking Trail. The Klipspringer Hiking Trail is a three-day hike with two overnight huts. The trail runners cover the route in one day! Members of the Arid Region are responsible for marking the route, giving them a unique perspective of this challenging run.
