Removal of the Letaba enclosure The Letaba enclosure was a fenced-off area (or exclusion zone) situated along the Letaba River, on the road between Phalaborwa and Mopani. The exclusion zone experiment was conducted over a period of 20 years to determine the ecological consequences of excluding animals from the fenced-off area. The experiment had reached its conclusion, and the Bushveld Region was asked to assist in removing the fence because it presented a hazard to animals. This has been completed.
