The Chief Executive’s Award The Chief Executive’s Award aims to give recognition to a member who has made an outstanding and significant “behind the scenes” contribution to the SHR, and whose role in the organisation is not always immediately apparent or recognised. CE’s Award 2024: Norma Sharratt for her significant contribution to promoting and strengthening the SHR brand, assisting with marketing and ensuring a consistent and professional quality of advertising. Region of the Year Awards The following criteria are used to determine the performance of region of the year: • Number of volunteer hours, as a measure of commitment. • The region’s financial contribution to SANParks (i.e. funds spent on wish list items). • Improvement in overall volunteer hours per member year on year. Region of the year 2024 – large region: West Rand Region Region of the year 2024 – small region: Vaal Triangle Region Norma Sharratt receiving the Chief Executive’s Award from Chief Executive, Jimmy Telle and Chairperson, Paul Colditz.
