Junior Honorary Rangers 2021
As learners head back to school after the summer holiday, our Junior Honorary Rangers get ready for the 2021 program of courses, outings and events to learn about conservation and the environment.
Registration days are being held at various locations across the country and youngsters are invited to join a program in their area.
Junior Honorary Rangers (JHR) are volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18 who have a keen interest in conservation and the environment. The program offers a fun-filled year of activities, outings and talks by experts in the field of nature conservation.
The youngsters learn about our national parks and the environmental threats they face, how to identify plants and animals in their area, and what it means to be an eco-volunteer making a difference for the planet.
Meetings are held on a monthly basis, with each member submitting a portfolio for evaluation at the end of the year. There are five phases to be completed and certificates are awarded for each.
